2011 NBA MOCK DRAFT

With what I think is the most exciting NBA draft Jazz fans have experienced in many years, with so many trade possibilities and the double lottery picks the exciting Jimmer Fredette that if the Jazz don’t end up with may cause mass mormon Cougar fan suicides, it is just a fun draft to speculate and then sit back and see what actually happens. This is how I think it will all shake out. I can’t say as a Jazz fan exactly how I would prefer it to go but simply how I think it does. If you care I personally I hope the Jazz end up getting Kanter at 3 and Thompson at 12 but I doubt that is how it goes. Anyway here is my mockup.

Offseason Recap: Jefferson could be key in keeping D-Will in Utah

I have been getting ulcers at the thought of D-Will playing in a uniform other than the Jazz. If Lebron bailed on Cleveland, his hometown, and Chris Paul is trying pull the ejection lever in New Orleans, Deron could drastically improve Eli Lilly and Company’s (maker of Prozac) stock and leave our fare city.

Why would D-Will leave? Because he isn’t John Stockton – let’s face it- nobody is! Who wants to be the best point guard in the league and play for a small market, never demand a raise, never demand a championship, and leave with nothing but your name on the sh%ttiest street in SLC (300 W is an insult)? The point is we can’t expect D-Will to be John Stockton.

Even thought the Jazz front office have been making me uneasy I have faith in Kevin O’Connor. O’Connor definitely isn’t making the same mistakes Cleveland made with Lebron, which is bowing down to his every whim. The relationship between front office and superstar is like that of a boyfriend and girlfriend. The boyfriend can’t respect the girlfriend if the girlfriend gives him everything he wants (Cleveland was a slut)… the girlfriend needs to take a stand every once in a while and lay down the law.

Kevin O’Connor, on paper, is an excellent girlfriend. He has made his stand by putting team before superstar. For instance, he shipped off Brewer, which I thought was going to be the beginning of the nastiest break-up since Zach Morris and Kelly Kapowskie’s high school break-up, and then he seemingly lost Boozer and Korver to Chi-town. D-Will has made it clear that if he doesn’t think he can win he will go somewhere else. Honestly, I can live with him leaving for being let down by the front office.

They had their ups-and-downs but they ended up getting married in the college years.

Boozer on the other hand wanted to go somewhere he can be grossly overpaid for gaining weight during injuries and hook up with walking STDs (apparently Chicago fit the bill). O’Connor proved he is willing to take risks and try to improve the team, instead of staying in .500 limbo with Boozer. O’Connor snatched up an over-sized Boozer in Al Jefferson, who happens to have a D-Will mentality. O’Connor rescued Jefferson from the drowning Timberwolves (insert annoying wolf howl here), which may end up saving the Jazz by keeping D-Will happy. Honestly, when the Jazz travel to Minnesota I have to watch the game on mute because those bankrupt idiots play the howl between free-throws. The howl sounds like they are drowning puppies and it reverberates off all the empty seats.

Jefferson stated that he wants to stay here for the long haul with D-Will, which automatically made me a huge Jefferson fan. If he works out and can prove to be “part 2 0f 2″ of the pick and roll then he could quite possibly be the single key to keeping D-Will in a Utah jersey. I pray he was sincere and not just drunk off getting out of Minnesota.

Offseason Recap: Da Bullzz

In a desperate attempt not to suck this year the Bulls decided to create the Jazz of the East by signing former Jazz men Kyle Korver, Ronnie Brewer, and Carlos Boozer. I don’t know what they expect to get out of those guys? Brewer just got off a gnarly hamstring injury, Korver had knee surgery, and Boozer is a walking injury! They will basically be the last years Jazz with a poor man’s D-Will (Derrick Rose) and a fry-cook (Joakim Noah).

Korver must have been elated to find out that he will once again be competing with Brewer for minutes … I hope he doesn’t get too fired up and turn into the wolf!

Since he won’t be around any more I have to throw in these images as farewell. Let’s be honest, Korver was the Jazz’s Justin Beiber … no chick over 16 thought he was cute! At least not after seeing the scary similarities to Carrot Top below.
